The environment is a complex thing. Although we don’t always see it, parts of it are linked together. Change one part of the system and we can impact on other parts that we didn’t intend to touch. With this in mind, environmental laws and procedures can be even more complex to deal with.
Information needs to be gathered and presented in a way that makes sense to the right people, agencies and organisations. Impacts and linkages need to identified, analysed and investigated for their significance or importance. Then approvals are required from the right agencies. Usually, all of this needs to be done BEFORE anything happens on your project.
